I am thinking about planting a ground cherry, a mix between tomatillo and tomato. Skin of tomatillo, drops to ground when ripe, tastes sweet like a tomato.

I grew them years ago & remember that they were easy and fairly prolific, and I enjoyed them. I’ve actually been thinking about growing them again this year, if I can get the berry vines out of my garden beds in time.

Are you buying a start, or are you starting your own from seed? I may order seeds & grow more than one so I have enough to make sauce & to share with my sauce- and jam-making friends.
